The Centre men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match to Bellarmine, falling 5-4 on Tuesday in Danville, Ky.
The Colonels took an early lead by winning two of three doubles matches, but Bellarmine came back to win four of the six singles matches for the overall victory.
Winning in doubles for Centre were the No. 2 team of Xan Witherington (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and Trey Williamson (Nashville, Tenn.), who claimed an 8-3 victory, and the No. 3 team of Woody Rini (Richmond, Ky.) and Parker Lawson (Prospect, Ky.), who won 8-2.
Williamson also picked up a win in No. 4 singles, defeating Bellarmine's Carlos Antonioli 4-6, 6-1, 10-6. Lucas Kelley (Maryville, Tenn.) got Centre's other victory, defeating Alex Chanley 6-4, 6-3 in No. 5 singles.
The Colonels now hold a 5-13 record on the year and travel to Berea on Thursday.
