For the second consecutive year, Centre's Meg Hawthorne was named to the All-West Region Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Hawthorne, a sophomore midfielder from Cary, N.C., was named to the region's second team after finishing the season with 55 goals and 21 assists for 76 points. Hawthorne finished in the top five in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in all three of those categories.
Hawthorne was also a First Team All-SCAC selection for the second year in a row and was named SCAC Player of the Week three times, the most of any player in the conference.
In just its second year of competition, Centre finished the season 13-5 and tied for first place in the SCAC with a 4-1 conference record. The Colonels qualified for the SCAC Tournament where they fell to Sewanee in the semifinal round.
