Centre head coach/director of golf Bruce Brown has been named the 2011-12 SCAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year.

The Centre women's golf program had its finest year ever in 2011-12 under Brown's leadership. The Colonels were ranked in the top five in Division III for nearly the entire season. They earned a Golfstat ranking as high as #2 in the country.

Centre set an SCAC record for lowest score in a conference championship tournament when they dominated this season's SCAC Championship, the first conference title in Centre history.

The Colonels then went on to the NCAA Championships in Angola, Ind., where they finished fourth, once again a high mark in Centre golf history. Senior Emily Bachert (Bowling Green, Ky.) earned her second consecutive national runner-up honors.
