For the third consecutive season, the Centre women's golf team will be participating in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship. The Colonels will look to improve on last season's 7th place finish at Mission Inn G.C. This year, the tournament will take place at Zollner G.C. at Trine University in Angola, Ind., and will run from May 8th to May 12th.

The Colonels, who have been ranked as high as second in the country, are currently ranked third in all of Division III and are fresh off of the first SCAC Championship in the history of the program. Centre is playing its best golf at the right time, as they set multiple team and individual records in the SCAC Tournament.

Centre is one of three teams in the NCAA field that has three individuals ranked in the Golfstat top 20. They are led by Senior Emily Bachert (Bowling Green, Ky.), who has won five tournaments this season, including the SCAC Championship, and is currently ranked third in Golfstat. Sophomore Allison Hancock (Paris, Ky.) had an outstanding spring campaign and has climbed all the way up to 19th in the Golfstat rankings. Junior Whitney Miller (Lexington, Ky.) won two tournaments in the fall and is ranked 20th in Golfstat. Freshmen Alyssa Brown (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and Michaela Manley (Shelbyville, Ky.) provide a quality of depth that few teams in Division III possess. Brown was named SCAC Newcomer of the Year after being the lowest scoring freshman at the SCAC Championship.

"We are extremely excited about the opportunity to compete against the elite teams in the nation," said head coach/director of golf Bruce Brown. "Centre, Methodist and DePauw should provide for an exciting, competitive event."
