Box Score The Centre men's soccer team scored four times in the first half and cruised to a 6-0 victory over Anderson on Friday night in Danville, Ky.
In all, five players found the net for the Colonels with Ryan Garvey (Louisville, Ky.) scoring twice and Robbe Tarver assisting on three of the goals. The victory improved Centre's record to 5-2 on the season while Anderson dropped to 3-6.
It was just minutes into the match when freshman Jacob Trumbull (Yellow Springs, Ohio) scored off a cross from Cameron Miller (Nicholasville, Ky.). Tarver then picked up assists on the next three goals, finding Garvey in the 12th minute, Josh Settle (Bowling Gren, Ky.) in the 19th and Jeremy Carlson (Seattle, Wash.) in the 31st to push the lead out to 4-0 by halftime.
The Colonels scored twice more in the second half with Garvey picking up his second goal of the night on a header off a cross from Trumbull and Zac Brown (Nicholasville, Ky.) capping the scoring with a goal on an assist from Connor Reed (Newbury Park, Calif.).
Centre was in control throughout the match, creating several scoring chances and outshooting Anderson 13-2. Zach Sosnovich (Woodbridge, N.J.) made one save in goal for the Colonels while Anderson goalkeeper Chris Maloney had three stops.
Centre finishes the weekend with a road trip to Rose Hulman on Sunday.
