Box Score The Centre men's soccer team went to two overtimes for the third straight game, falling 1-0 at Berry in the season's first Southern Athletic Association game Saturday in Rome, Ga.
Berry's J.T. Kieffer scored the game-winner on an assist from Samer Hajmurad on a set piece with five minutes left to play in the second overtime period.
It was the second straight double overtime loss for Centre, which fell to Spalding 3-2 on Wednesday. In the Colonels' previous game, they pulled out a 1-0 double overtime win over Rose-Hulman.
It was another close game between Centre and Berry, teams which split two games last season, tied for the regular season SAA championship and met again in the finals of the conference tournament. Berry took 15 shots to Centre's eight and held an 8-3 edge in corners. Ohan Missirian-Dill (Brentwood, Tenn.) made four saves for Centre while Logan Hill had one for Berry.
Overall, Centre falls to 5-3-2 and opens SAA play at 0-1 while Berry moves to 5-4-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The Colonels return to action with a trip to Birmingham-Southern on Friday.
