Leading by eight at the half, the Centre College women's basketball team out-scored Hendrix by 14 in the second half en-route to a 78-56 win Friday, Feb. 15 in Conway, Ark.

With the win, the Colonels have now won five straight and 10 of their last 11 to improve to 13-10 overall and 11-2 in the SAA. The loss drops Hendrix to 3-21 overall and 3-10 in league play.

The Warriors scored the first four points of the game, but Centre scored seven straight points to take a 7-4 lead.

Tied at 15 with just over 12 minutes left in the first half, the Colonels used an 11-2 run to go in front 26-17.

The lead grew to as many as 11 in the opening period before ending with Centre ahead 38-30.

Hendrix cut the lead to five (44-39) early in the second half, but the Colonels went on an 11-3 run to push the lead to 55-42.

The Warriors would get no closer the remainder of the way as Centre finished with the 22-point road victory.

Sophomore Maggie Hartlage (Louisville, Ky.) had a big game. Hartlage made 10 of her 11 shots from the floor and her only free throw attempt to finish with a game-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds.

Junior Paige Baechle's (Gallatin, Tenn.) streak of 15 straight double-doubles came to an end, but she still finished with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Junior Mary Stough (Louisville, Ky.) added 13 points off the bench and senior Chelsea Benham (Taswell, Ind.) finished with 12 points and six rebounds.

Jamie Tate led Hendrix with 13 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, while Katie Coughran added 10 points.

Centre will play its regular-season finale Sunday, Feb. 17 against Rhodes College. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CST in Memphis, Tenn.
