The Centre men's tennis team picked up its second straight win with a 6-3 victory over Southern Athletic Association opponent Birmingham-Southern on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala.
The Colonels won all three doubles matches, then split the six singles matches.
Xan Witherington (Oak Ridge, Tenn.), Lucas Kelley (Maryville, Tenn.) and Nathan Stein (Nashville, Tenn.) all picked up two wins for Centre. Witherington was a 6-3, 6-4 winner in No. 2 singles and Kelley a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 winner in No. 4 while the two teamed up to take an 8-4 win in No. 1 doubles.
Stein was a 6-1, 6-0 winner in No. 5 singles and teamed up with Trey Williamson (Nashville, Tenn.) to win 9-8 in No. 2 doubles. The Colonels' other win came from Woody Rini (Richmond, Ky.) and Parker Lawson (Prospect, Ky.), who teamed up to win 8-2 in No. 3 doubles.
With the win, Centre improves to 7-6 on the season.
