The Centre men's tennis team made quick work of Berea on Tuesday, winning 9-0 in a non-conference game in Berea, Ky.
In doubles play, Xan Witherington (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and Lucas Kelley (Maryville, Tenn.) were 8-2 winners in the No. 1 match while Trey Williamson (Nashville, Tenn.) and Woody Rini (Richmond, Ky.) won the No. 2 match by the score of 8-0. Alex Wermeling (Lexington, Ky.) and Dan Miller (Evansville, Ind.) won the No. 3 match 8-3.
In singles competition, Rini was a 6-4, 6-3 winner in the No. 1 match, Witherington a 6-1, 6-1 winner in No. 2 and Williamson a 6-0, 6-1 winner in No. 3. Kelley won 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 4 match while Wermeling took the No. 5 match by the score of 6-0, 6-1 and Miller was a 7-6, 7-5 winner in No. 6.
With the win, Centre improves its record to 8-6 on the season. The Colonels return to action when they host Marian on Saturday.
