Berry defeats women's tennis 6-3 in SAA Tournament

Centre fell to Berry 6-3 in a first round match in the Southern Athletic Association Women's Tennis Championship on Friday in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The Colonels fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, and Berry was able to secure the victory by winning four of the six singles matches.

Kimberly Randall (Johns Creek, Ga.) was part of two of Centre's three wins, teaming up with Abby Tudor (Richmond, Ky.) to post a 9-8 win over Berry's Heidi Seabaugh and Lib Lockett in No. 3 doubles before defeating Lockett 6-4, 6-1 in No. 6 singles.

Centre's other win came from Maddie Pitt (Louisville, Ky.), who defeated Seabaugh 6-4, 6-3 in No. 5 singles.

The loss drops Centre to 5-12 on the season. The Colonels will take on Oglethorpe on Saturday.
