The Centre men's tennis team wrapped up its 2013 season with a 5-2 loss to Oglethorpe in a third place match at the SAA Championships in Nashville, Tenn. on Sunday.
The Colonels dropped all three doubles matches by the same score of 8-4 before coming back to claim two singles victories. Oglethorpe, however, was also able to pick up two singles wins to reach the 5-2 decision.
Winners for Centre were Xan Witherington (Oak Ridge, Tenn.), who defeated Oglethorpe's Ethan Motz 7-5, 6-4 in the No. 1 match, and Nathan Stein (Nashville, Tenn.) who also won 7-5, 6-4 over Ben Hirsch in the No. 4 match.
Centre finishes the season at 9-10 while Oglethorpe improves to 19-5 with the victory.
