The first day of play at the Oglethorpe Invite at Royal Lakes G.C. in Flowery Branch, Ga. is in the books, and with one day left in the tournament, the Centre men's golf team sits in first place.
Centre posted a tournament low combined team score of 290 on Monday, good enough to lead LaGrange by one shot, Oglethorpe by two, Southwestern by three and Berry by five.
Individually, the low man for the Colonels was senior Grant Blevins (Danville, Ky.), who tied for first place overall with a two-under par round of 70. Centre had one other under par score on Monday as freshman Andrew McKinney (Danville, Ky.) turned in a round of 71, good for sixth place. Sophomore Dakota Jarman (Danville, Ky.) is among the top 20 on the leaderboard with a round of 73. The final two scores for Centre came from sophomore Andrew Horn (Franklin, Tenn.) at 76 and junior Bryan Griffin (Greensboro, Ky.) at 78.
