The Centre men's tennis team was swept in its season opener, falling 9-0 to Bellarmine on Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
Bellarmine claimed all three doubles matches, with Centre's top performance coming from the team of Alex Wermeling (Lexington, Ky.) and Lucas Brooks (Pineville, Ky.), who fell 8-4 to Jimmy Fernandez and Logan Knott in the No. 2 match.
The Knights took all six singles matches as well, with Centre's closest call coming from Caleb Smith (Morristown, Tenn.), who fell 6-3, 7-6 in the No. 5 match.
Bellarmine moves to 2-2 on the season, while Centre opens at 0-1. The Colonels are back in action with a trip to Charleston on Saturday.
