The Centre College baseball team dropped its second straight home game with a 6-1 loss to Calvin College Friday, Feb. 28 in Danville, Ky.

The Colonels, now 2-5 on the season, allowed a pair of unearned runs in the first inning and never recovered allowing a single run in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

Centre's lone run came in the fifth. Freshman outfielder Alex Richardson (Mt. Washington, Ky.) tripled to right-center to lead off the inning, and then scored on freshman catcher Will Graham's (Danville, Ky.) ground out to second base, but it wasn't enough.

The Colonels managed only three hits in the game with senior outfielder Kyle Cook (Maineville, Ohio) and junior first baseman Trey Litsey (Louisville, Ky.) accounting for the other two.

Sophomore pitcher Stephen Shunk (Lexington, Ky.) was saddled with the loss. He falls to 0-2 on the season after allowing three runs - one earned - on six hits in four innings of work.

Centre will next play Defiance College Saturday, March 1 at Gary Wright Field.
