Baechle named d3hoops.com Third Team All-American

Centre senior forward Paige Baechle (Gallatin, Tenn.) has been named a 2013-14 Division III Third Team All-American by d3hoops.com.

The 2012-13 SAA Player of the Year added to the list of accolades she has received during the 2013-14 campaign, which include being named First Team All-South Region, First Team All-Southern Athletic Association, CoSIDA Academic All-District and to the SAA All-Tournament Team, as well as two separate SAA Player of the Week honors this season.

Baechle capped off an incredible career for the Colonels in 2014, finishing the season ranked fourth on the school's all-time scoring list and grabbing more rebounds than any player in Centre women's basketball history. She joins Maggie Prewitt in 2012 as the only Centre players to receive All-America status this decade.

Baechle led the Colonels with 18.5 points and 11.3 rebounds this season, finishing second in the SAA in both categories and tying for first nationally with 22 double doubles. Baechle also finished in the top ten in the conference in field goal percentage, free throw percentage and steals.

Baechle was a leader of a Colonels team that went 18-10 overall this season with a 10-4 record in SAA competition. Centre finished second in the SAA's regular season standings and as the runner-up in the conference tournament. The Colonels ended the regular season ranked seventh in the South Regional Rankings.
