WILMINGTON, Ohio (CentreAthletics.com) – The Centre women's cross country team posted a 13th place finish out of a field of 37 teams made up of NCAA Division I, II and III teams, as well as NAIA and Junior College squads at the 2015 Jenna Strong Classic on Friday evening. The event was hosted by Wilmington College.
Miami (Ohio) paced the race, followed by Ohio Dominican second, Huntington third, Hanover fourth and Wooster fifth.
The Colonels recorded a mark of 1:42.24 led by freshman Annie Rodenfels (Waynesville, Ohio), who posted a personal best time of 20:02.4 running in her home state.
Freshman Carbery Campbell (DeLand, Fla.) toured the 5k course with a career-best mark of 20:20.2, senior Amanda Vokoun (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Bailey Horn (Charleston, S.C.) finished with season-best times of 20:31.2 and 20:37.3, respectively. Junior Shelby Adams (Prospect, Ky.) rounded out scoring for the Colonels with a mark of 20:52.3.
Other Centre runners included sophomore Marisa Moore (Glasgow, Ky.) - 20:56.3, freshman Liza Goss (Lebanon, N.H.) - 21:17.0, junior Celeste Grubb (Brentwood, Tenn.) - 21:20.8 , Guadalupe Delgado (Worcester, Mass.) - 22:25.6 and freshman Allyson Becker (Mt. Pleasant, Wisc.) - 27:08.4.
The Colonels return to action when they host the Southern Athletic Association championships in Danville on Saturday, October 31.
