The Centre women's tennis team suffered a shutout loss at Bellarmine, falling 9-0 in a non-conference match Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
Centre fell behind after dropping all three doubles matches, with the No. 1 team of Aliza Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Kate Tomey (Indianapolis, Ind.) playing the most competitive match before falling to Bellarmine's Evann Waschuk and Caitlin Hanley.
The Colonels fell in straight sets in all six singles matches, though Molly McElvogue (Phoenix, Ariz.) tested Bellarmine's Mary Elaine Kuo in the No. 4 match before falling 7-6, 7-5.
Centre opens its regular season at 0-1 while Bellarmine moves to 2-0 on the year. The Colonels are back in action when they travel to face Piedmont in a neutral site match next Satruday at Sewanee.
