The Centre men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Southern Athletic Association opponent Oglethorpe on Sunday in Danville, Ky.
Centre held strong through doubles play, being competitive despite falling behind 2-1. Logan Henize (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Lucas Brooks (Pineville, Ky.) picked up the Colonels' only victory of the day by winning 8-5 over Oglethorpe's No. 2 doubles team of Craig Bourne and Briton Richardson.
The No. 3 team of Daniel Miller (Evansville, Ind.) and Forrest Kamperman (Miesenbach, Germany) also held strong before falling 9-7 in the No. 3 doubles match, but Centre came away from doubles play down 2-1. Oglethorpe was able to close out the match by winning the first four singles matches that were played to completion.
The result brings Centre to 3-10 on the year, with Oglethorpe improving to 9-8. The Colonels next travel to Berea on Tuesday.
