The Centre men's tennis team ended its regular season on a winning note, picking up a 7-0 sweep of Berea on Tuesday in Danville, Ky.
With Berea only traveling with five players, the Colonels got out to a 2-0 lead by sweeping the two doubles matches. Woody Rini (Richmond, Ky.) and Lucas Brooks (Pineville, Ky.) were 8-1 winners in the No. 1 match, while Daniel Miller (Evansville, Ind.) and Forrest Kamperman (Miesenbach, Germany) won 8-5 in the No. 2 match.
Singles play brought more of the same, as Centre won all five matches to complete the sweep. Brooks, Kamperman, and Miller were all winners again, claiming victories in the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4 matches respectively. Caleb Smith (Morristown, Tenn.) was a 6-2, 6-4 winner in the No. 2 match, while Alex Wermeling (Lexington, Ky.) won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5.
With the victory, Centre finishes the regular season at 4-9, while Berea falls to 0-9. The Colonels begin Southern Athletic Association Tournament play on Friday in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
