@CentreFH Wins Fifth Straight with 11-0 Rout of Lindenwood-Belleville

DANVILLE, Ky. (CentreColonels.com) – The Centre field hockey team won its fifth consecutive game on Saturday in convincing fashion with an 11-0 triumph over Lindenwood-Belleville in a non-conference matchup at the South Campus Field. The Colonels improve to 7-3 with the win while the Lynx drop to 0-4 on the season.

During this five-game winning streak, Centre has outscored its opponents 36-1 with four straight shutout victories.

The Colonels' 11-0 win marks the largest margin of victory since Centre defeated Transylvania by an identical 11-0 score on Oct. 2, 2010.

The Colonels jumped out to a 7-0 after the first half before adding four goals in the second half.

Senior forward Cole Jordan (Louisville, Ky.) paced the Colonels with a career-high four goals on Saturday afternoon. With the Colonels ahead 1-0 after junior forward Brooklyn Bell (Louisville, Ky.) found the back of the cage in the third minute of action, Jordan scored three straight goals for Centre.

Sophomore forward Emily Schank (Louisville, Ky.) led all players with a pair of assists in the victory, dishing out dimes to junior midfielder Natascha Loeb (Charlotte, N.C.) and senior forward Alicia Kalbfleisch (Louisville, Ky.) for first half goals. Sophomore midfielder Peyton Baer's (Asheville, N.C.) scored in the 32nd minute to give the Colonels a 7-0 half time advantage.

Jordan opened scoring in the second half with her fourth goal of the afternoon, followed by goals by senior forward Megan Flocken (Dexter, Mich.), Bell and freshman midfielder Savannah Elpers (Louisville, Ky.)

Bell finished with two goals for her second multi-goal game of the season.

Centre held advantages of 66-1 in shots and 35-0 in penalty corners.

The Colonels return to action tomorrow afternoon hosting Wittenberg at 1 p.m. at the South Campus Field. Centre will honor its eight seniors prior to the contest. The Tigers own a 7-3 record on the season and have won four games in a row coming into Sunday's matchup.
