Box Score ATLANTA (CentreColonels.com) – With the end of the volleyball regular season, the Southern Athletic Association released its all-conference squads and cousins Hailey Foote (Prospect, Ky.) and Shelby Foote (Prospect, Ky.) represented Centre as at-large selections to the All-SAA Second Team.
Shelby Foote proved to be one of the most versatile players in the SAA during her senior season with the Colonels, changing her position to setter and finishing fourth in the conference with 569 assists on the year.
In addition to her team high assist total, Shelby also led the Colonels in service aces with 34 and finished third on the team with 151 kills and 242 digs. Shelby also earned SAA Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 10 after helping the Colonels to crucial victories over Berry and Oglethorpe.
It was a breakthrough junior campaign for Hailey Foote, who finished the year with 270 kills, the most on the team and third most in the conference. Hailey posted a team high .175 hitting percentage while also adding 24 aces, 200 digs and 50 total blocks.
Hailey Foote led the Colonels in kills for 11 consecutive matches in late September into October. She finished with a career high 21 kills in Centre's epic five-set victory over Southern Virginia during the tournament at Washington & Lee in the first week of the season.
The SAA Volleyball Tournament will run from Nov. 4-6 at top seed Hendrix.
