Box Score

Man of the Match - Noah Wesley-Chevalier

BEREA, Ky. – Just 24 hours after facing Birmingham Southern down in Alabama Wednesday, the Centre College men's soccer team traveled to Berea Thursday evening for another midweek match, defeating the host Mountaineers, 4-0.

Senior Noah Wesley-Chevalier (Cincinnati) scored a pair of goals to pace the Colonels, who improve to 9-4-2 overall on their fourth consecutive winning decision. Berea is 0-15 for the season after the loss, and is winless in five matches all-time against Centre.

Centre and Berea were scoreless after the opening 45 minutes, going into the locker room even at 0-0.

The Colonels finally got the offensive going in the second half, netting all four goals in roughly 25 minutes.

Wesley-Chevalier put Centre on the board just minutes after the second period began, converting on an assist from junior Jacob Haddad (Brentwood, Tenn.) for his sixth goal of the season.

The Cincinnati native netted goal No. 7 – a team high – shortly after as freshman Royce Pope (Tampa) earned the assist. It marked Wesley-Chevalier's second multi-goal effort of the season.

Several Centre reserves saw action Thursday, and in the 71st minute sophomore James Warinner (Danville, Ky.) scored on his first shot of the season from freshman Dylan Barth's (Louisville, Ky.) second assist of the campaign. The goal was Warinner's first of his Centre career.

Freshman Nathan Wilcox (Greenville, S.C.) added his third collegiate goal about three minutes later, getting the helper from senior Harrison Dunn (Lexington, Ky.)

Junior Bailey Spade (Frankfort, Ky.) faced only one shot on target thanks to Centre's stout defensive effort, and finished with his sixth clean sheet and second in as many nights.

Overall, Centre out-shot Berea 20 to two, and had 13 shots on goal and six corners.

The Colonels wrap up the regular season Saturday against Sewanee for Homecoming, with first kick scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Amend Field.
