Mason earns 350th career victory

Box Score

DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's basketball coach Greg Mason reached win No. 350 this past weekend, as his squad defeated Boyce College by a 97-56 score.

Mason, a Shelbyville, Ky., native, has been at the helm of his alma mater's program since the 1999-2000 season. He entered the year 11th among NCAA Division III Men's Basketball coaches with a career winning percentage of .727.

"As I was walking off the floor after shaking our opponent's hands, my very first thought was of all the great players I've had the good fortune to coach as well as all the outstanding teams we've had," Mason said. "It's been an amazing recent run for Centre Basketball and I'm very pleased to be a part of it. I would like to say 'Thank you' to everyone, both on and off the floor, who has been a part of our success."

A former All-SCAC student-athlete himself, Mason's first victory was a 66-65 decision against Hanover back in 1999. Remarkably, he's never had a losing season during his 18 seasons as Centre's head man.

Mason aims for win No. 351 tonight when the Colonels take on Earlham on the road. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
