DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre baseball fell to the Berry Vikings, 11-3, in Southern Athletic Association play Friday evening at Gary Wright Field. 

The Vikings (18-8, 9-4 SAA) took advantage in the series opener with a couple big innings, dominating the Colonels (12-12, 4-6 SAA) for 15 hits and 11 runs. 

Berry jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Vikings tagged junior Aaryn Chandler (St. John, Ind.) for five hits, with two for extra bases in the frame. 

The next two innings featured more of the same as Berry extended its lead to 10-0. 

Juniors Drew Schacht (Louisville, Ky.) and Mason Falbo (Mississauga, Ontario) both got the Colonels on the board in the bottom of the third with a pair of RBI singles. 

Schacht tallied his second RBI of the game in the following inning, scoring sophomore Will Kirk (Morgantown, N.C.). 

The Vikings extended their lead to 11-3, courtesy of a Tyler Calvert RBI double in the top of the sixth. 

Neither team could muster any offense in the remaining three innings of play. 

Freshman Sam Wilson (Louisville, Ky.) had four solid innings of relief, allowing one run on four hits with two strikeouts in the defeat. Fellow reliever Harrison Williams (Goshen, Ky.) closed the game with three innings of similarly-strong innings, allowing two hits and no runs. 

Schact led the Colonels with two hits and two RBIs on the day. 

The Colonels and Vikings will meet again on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 P.M. ET.
