GREENCASTLE, Ind. – For the second time in as many weeks, the Centre men's track and field team traveled with a partial squad to DePauw University for an indoor meet. At the DePauw Indoor Classic, the Colonels scored 41 points and finished in ninth place overall with some excellent individual performances along the way.
Freshman
Aaron Bastian made a huge impact for the Centre men in the jumping events. Bastian won the triple jump after going 40-8.75. He also placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 19-2.
The Colonels scored the most points out of anybody in the 60m. Senior DeMontre Lewis posted a time of 7.24 for a runner-up finish, while freshman
Tanner May clocked in at 7.26, good for fourth overall.
In addition to their strong individual performances, Bastian, May and Lewis teamed with sophomore
Jake Pfaller to win the men's 4x200 relay with a time of 1:35.07.
In the distance events, sophomore
Andrew Edwards finished fifth overall with a time of 2:48.32 and just missed out on a scoring time in the mile.
Senior
Bryce Whitman finished off the scoring for the day for the Colonels in the weight throw, finishing with a mark of 46-10.75 to take seventh place overall.

Centre track and field will return to action in one week with the Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational at Anderson University.
