Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Centre women's tennis earned their first victory of the season Friday evening, dropping Covenant by a 9-0 score at the McCallie School in Chattanooga.
The Colonels move to 1-2 overall while the Scots slide to 0-4.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre dropped just one game in a dominant doubles effort. At No. 1,
Neha Rao and
Hannah Doherty defeated Esther Eddy and Margo Koby, 8-1.

Abigail Kent and
Katharine Sherman combined to sweep Mariah Westra and Marsha Lanska at No. 2, 8-0, while
Emily Zelichenok and
Caroline Stallings won by the same score over Laney Beckwith and Justine Blick at No. 3.
- Singles was much of the same, with Centre taking all six bouts in straight sets while dropping just three combined games.
- Sherman handed Eddy a 6-0, 6-1 loss at No. 1, and her doubles partner Rao followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Koby at No. 2.
- Kent took care of Lanska at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0, and Stallings swept past Blick by a 6-0, 6-0 score.
- The senior Zelichenok cruised past Anna Logan at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and rookie Doherty defeated Sara Blauw, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 to close out the rout.
UP NEXT
The Colonels face a tough test Saturday, meeting second-ranked Emory at 12 p.m. in Atlanta. The Eagles were NCAA Division III runners-up last season.
