Box Score NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's tennis captured a thrilling 5-4 victory Sunday against in-state foe Transylvania at the Top Seed Tennis Club.
The decisive match came at No. 1 singles, where sophomore
Arpit Rana claimed a come-from-behind victory over Arjun Gupta, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6.
Centre improves to 2-4 overall while Transy slips to 0-3.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Pioneers led 2-1 after closely contested doubles action. Centre's lone doubles point came from
Thomas Kaplan and
Danny Nelson, who defeated Transy's Brandon Stofleth and Daniel Cooper at No. 3, 8-3.

Matthew Bulow won his No. 4 singles match against Noah McNamee, 6-4, 7-6, for his second individual win of the weekend.

Ben Hadlock also claimed his No. 5 match with a 6-1, 6-1 decision against Stofleth.
- Nelson defeated Hunter Gregg in straight sets at No. 6, as well, 6-0, 6-1
- With the overall match tied at 4-4, all eyes fell to the first court, where Rana had fallen by a 6-4 score in the opening set.
- He won the second, 7-5, and fending off multiple match points in the final set to win in a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-4).
