Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Centre women's tennis faced tough competition at No. 15 Washington University Saturday morning, falling 8-1 in their regular season finale.
The Colonels move to 8-7 overall while the host Bears improve to 11-10.
HIGHLIGHTS

Neha Rao and
Hannah Doherty continued their strong season together at No. 1 doubles, winning their eighth match of the year in an 8-6 victory over the Bears' regionally-ranked duo of Ally Persky and Lisa Chionis.
- Washington Univ. would take doubles 2 and 3, however, carrying a 2-1 advantage into singles.
- The Colonels fell in all six singles bouts, but kept each close despite not having their usual No. 1 individual.
- Rao met Persky in No. 1 singles, falling by a 6-4, 6-3 margin, and
Abigail Kent dropped a 6-3, 7-5 decision against regionally-ranked Divya Sharma.
- Other narrow wins for the Bears came at No. 4, where Ashley Lessen defeated Doherty, 6-4, 7-5, and No. 5, where Laurel Wanger topped
Emily Zelichenok, 7-6, 6-2.
