MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Centre men's tennis fell by a 5-1 score Friday morning against Millsaps in the Southern Athletic Association Tournament quarterfinals, played at the Adams Tennis Complex at Old Fort Park.
In a rematch of their regular season finale, the Colonels (5-11) played doubles close before the Majors (11-4) pulled away in singles action.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The regionally-ranked Majors claimed the first two completed doubles bouts by 8-3 and 8-5 scores.
- Centre's
Matthew Bulow and
Max Middleton secured a point in No. 2 doubles, defeating John Kimball and Cooper Cearley, 8-6. It marked the duo's third victory in their last four appearances.
- Millsaps' regionally-ranked No. 1 singles player, Davis Plummer, won the opening match 6-1, 6-1 over Centre's
Arpit Rana.
- The Majors would win singles 3 and 6, as well, ending the match and advancing to the semifinals.
