LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Centre swim teams took a step up in competition as they traveled to Bellarmine, with an additional meet for the women's team against Butler. The Colonels came away with three losses, with the men's team losing 196-64 to Bellarmine and the women's team losing 191-71 to Bellarmine and 181-81 to Butler.
On the women's side, one of the bright spots for the Colonels was the performance of rookie
Callie West, who posted the only individual victory of the meet as she took first place in the 50 freestyle in 24.37.
West was also part of a victory relay for the Centre women, as she teamed up with senior
Peyton Patel and sophomores
Kelsey Jenks and
Greer Manger to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:40.63.
On the men's side, the best event of the day for the Colonels was the 200 freestyle relay, as the team of senior
Zee Oddo, junior
Henry Lang and freshmen
Nikolai Garding and
Zolon Knoll won with a time of 1:31.54.
Other standout performances were turned in by
Kai Oddo, who finished second in the 100 backstroke in 55.29 and
Bryan Killian, who took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.12.
