DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre swim teams returned to action as they hosted a tough Franklin Grizzlies squad on Saturday afternoon at Boles Natatorium. The Grizzlies swept the Colonels, with scores of 153.5-87.5 for the men and 138-104 for the women.
On the men's side, the Colonels picked up their first victory of the day in the 200 medley relay as the team of
Kai Oddo,
Bryan Killian,
Jackson Fears and
Zee Oddo earned the victory in 1:38.78.
The relay winners were also responsible for all of the individual event wins for the Centre men.
Kai Oddo picked up a victory for the Colonels in the 50 freestyle, posting a time of 22.29 to win by one tenth of a second. Killian pulled off an impressive victory in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.17. Finally, Fears earned a narrow victory in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:23.74.
On the women's side, the first victory for the Colonels occurred in the 200 freestyle as
Greer Manger picked up the win with a time of 2:00.13, winning by less than a second.
Rookie
Callie West won multiple individual events for the Centre women. West took first place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.78, and then cruised to a victory in the 100 freestyle after posting a time of 53.70.
Audrey Becker was another multiple event winner for the Colonels, as she won the 400 individual medley in 4:46.92, followed by a narrow victory in the 200 fly as her time of 2:14.31 won by 0.31 seconds.
In the final event of the day, Manger and West teamed with
Kelsey Jenks and
Peyton Patel to take first place in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:40.55.
