DAY 3 RECAP

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Centre swim teams concluded the first half of their 2021-22 season with the third and final day of swimming at the Wabash Invitational. The Colonels finished the meet where they ended the Saturday session, with the women's team in fifth place and the men's team in seventh.
On the women's side, the first individual swim of the day was the mile freestyle, which saw
Savannah Gupton lead the way with a time of 18:42.36. Gupton also scored 208.20 points for the Colonels in the 1m diving competition.
In the 100 individual medley,
Audrey Becker had an excellent swim in one of her signature events, posting a runner-up finish with a time of 1:01.74. Becker also posted a podium finish in the 200 fly, finishing third overall with a time of 2:09.77.
The 200 backstroke saw
Connor Foster pace the Colonels with a time of 2:12.37, with
Sarah Albrecht finishing closely behind Foster in 2:13.05.
In the 100 freestyle,
Greer Manger outperformed her prelim time by nearly half a second as she finished with a time of 54.15. The next race was the 200 breaststroke and
Maddie Hall had the top time for the Centre women as she finished in 2:34.41.
Finally, in the 400 freestyle relay, Foster and Manger teamed with
Peyton Patel and
Kelsey Jenks to post a time of 3:40.34.
On the men's side,
Sam Biggerstaff posted the top time for the Colonels in the mile freestyle as he finished in 18:04.58. The next event for the Centre men was the 100 individual medley and
Zee Oddo led the way with a time of 55.71.
In the 200 backstroke,
Kai Oddo shaved over two seconds off his preliminary time as he posted a time of 1:58.55.
Henry Lang added to his excellent weekend of swims by posting the top time for Centre in the 100 freestyle, finishing in 48.59.
Breaststroke specialist
Bryan Killian had a fantastic swim in the 200 as he knocked off nearly three seconds from his preliminary time, posting a time of 2:09.43. In the 200 fly, freshman
Jackson Fears finished in fourth place overall with a time of 1:54.15.
The last event of the day was the 400 freestyle relay and the team of Fears, Lag,
Kai Oddo and
Zolon Knoll finished with a time of 3:12.84, an improvement of nearly ten seconds from their preliminary swim.
DAY 2 RECAP

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Centre swim teams had a busy Saturday on the second day of competition at the Wabash Invitational with a morning full of prelims, followed by a dozen event finals in the afternoon. With one day of swimming left, the women's team is in fifth place, while the men's team is in seventh.
On the women's side,
Connor Foster,
Greer Manger,
Callie West and
Peyton Patel knocked six seconds off of their seed time in the 200 medley relay and posted a time of 1:50.48. In the 800 freestyle relay, Manger and West teamed with
Kelsey Jenks and
Audrey Becker to post a time of 7:59.40, a full ten seconds faster than their seed time.
In the 400 individual medley, Becker finished fourth overall with a time of 4:35.91, five seconds faster than her preliminary time.
The 100 fly saw West win the event with a time of 56.52. West recorded a time of 56.36 in the preliminary round for an NCAA national B cut time.
In the 200 freestyle, Manger led the way for the Centre women with a time of 2:00.63, with
Ashleigh Flaherty and
Kate Krogen each recording lifetime best swims in the event as well.
Maddie Hall posted the top time for the Colonels in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:11.08.
Finally, in the 100 backstroke, Foster posted the fast time for Centre, finishing in 1:01.69, but
Sarah Albrecht,
Peyton Patel,
Meredith Walker and
Sophia Fogle all had lifetime best races.
On the men's side, the team of
Jackson Fears,
Henry Lang,
Zolon Knoll and
Kai Oddo posted an 800 freestyle relay time of 7:11.38, outperforming their seed time by almost 14 seconds. In the 200 medley relay, Fears and
Kai Oddo teamed with
Bryan Killian and
Zee Oddo to post a time of 1:35.36.
In the 400 individual medley,
Sean Gilpatrick knocked eight seconds off of his preliminary time, finishing in 4:16.11.
Fears had a lifetime best swim in the 100 fly as he posted a preliminary time of 51.37 and finished third overall with a time of 51.50.
Jacob Sanders and
Ben Webster also posted lifetime best swims in the 100 fly.
In the 200 freestyle, Lang had the top time for the Colonels, finishing in 1:46.59.
Nikolai Garding recorded a lifetime best time in this event to add to the long list of lifetime bests achieved by the Colonels on Saturday.
The 100 breaststroke saw Killian lead the way for the Centre men with a time of 58.93.
Kai Oddo posted a lifetime best time in the 100 backstroke with a preliminary time of 52.46, as he finished third overall with a time of 52.52.
Jacob Sanders recorded another lifetime best time in this event, givig him two for the day.

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Centre swim teams kicked off their final meet of 2021 with the first of three days of competition at the Wabash Invitational. The Friday session largely consisted of prelims, but the Colonels had some strong swims in the event finals that took place.

On the women's side, the Colonels took six seconds off of their seed time in the 400 medley relay as
Connor Foster,
Maddie Hall,
Audrey Becker and
Callie West finished with a time of 4:03.05. West teamed with
Kelsey Jenks,
Greer Manger and
Peyton Patel to finish third in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.37.

In the 500 freestyle, Manger led the way for the Centre women with a time of 5:22.80. In the 200 individual medley it was Becker who posted the fastest time for the Colonels, finishing in 2:10.72. Finally, in the 50 freestyle, West had an outstanding race, finishing in 24 seconds flat to take second place.

On the men's side, Centre knocked almost seven full seconds off their 400 medley relay seed time as
Kai Oddo,
Bryan Killian,
Jackson Fears and
Henry Lang finished in 3:30.92. The Centre men knocked over four seconds off their 200 freestyle relay as
Zee Oddo teamed with his brother Kai, Fears and Lang to post a time of 1:27.12.

In individual events, Lang posted the top time for the Centre men in the 500 freestyle as he finished in 4:54.22. In the 200 individual medley, Fears led the way for the Colonels with a time of 1:59.02. The last event final of the Friday session was the 50 freestyle and
Kai Oddo had an excellent race as he outperformed his seed time to finish fourth overall in 21.51.
