LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Centre men's track and field team brought a partial squad to the Kentucky Indoor Collegiate in Louisville and were the lone Division III representatives in the 18-team field. Centre had several impressive performances, scoring 50 points and finishing in fourth place overall.
The Colonels' 50 points bested NAIA Shawnee State by four points and finished 15 points back of Division II Kentucky Wesleyan.
In the sprints, sophomore
JP Vaught, less than a day removed from setting a new program record in the 60, finished third in today's 60m with a time of 6.96. In the 200m,
Tanner May was the top scorer, finishing in sixth place with a time of 23.31.
Centre had three scoring time in the 60m hurdles on the men's side.
Thomas Jordan finished third overall with a time of 8.85, followed by
Mykal Bright in fourth at 9.36 and
Pete Shipley in sixth at 9.66.
Jordan, Bright and Shipley also each scored in the long jump, with Jordan's mark of 21-11 leading the way for the Colonels as he finished third. Bright was the top finisher in the high jump, placing sixth with a clear of 5-9.25. In the triple jump,
Aaron Bastian finished fourth overall with a mark of 43-6.5, followed by Bright, whose mark of 40-2.25 was good for fifth place.
The last score for the Centre men came in the shot put, where
Allen Richardson just missed out on tying the new school record he set last night at DePauw, finishing third overall with a mark of 48-5.5.

The Centre track and field teams will return to action with their first outdoor meet of the year, the Victor Icebreaker Duals, on Mar. 6.
