JACKSON, Miss. – Centre men's tennis dropped a close 5-4 decision Saturday at Millsaps, playing the first of two scheduled matches this weekend.
The Colonels fall to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association action, while the Majors improved to 3-0 (2-0 SAA).
HIGHLIGHTS
- Millsaps claimed two doubles matches to carry a slight edge into single play.
Danny Nelson and
Faraz Ghamgosar paired to win No. 3 doubles for Centre, 8-1 over Henry Atkins Kells Hecht.
- Nelson won again in singles, dropping Alex Gardiner in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6 to make it a 3-2 match overall.

Arpit Rana won his match at No. 1 singles over John Kimball, 6-3, 7-6, and
Ashton Whitt followed with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 comeback victory in No. 4 singles against Trevor Vaccaro.
- Millsaps went on to claim the match at No. 3 singles, where Hamilton Jackson bested
Bo Bush in three sets.
