Centre jumps to fourth after 36 holes at NCAA Championships

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Centre women's golf jumped up the standings after the second round of the NCAA Division III Championships, played at the Forest Akers West Golf Course.
 
The Colonels carded 309 – the third-lowest score among all teams – enjoying warmer conditions while rising to fourth overall through 36 holes.
 
Rylee Suttor continues to pace Centre individually, firing an even par 72 that featured six birdies. She sits in a tie for second, three strokes back of Makensie Toole of George Fox University.
 
Bailey Plourde was eight strokes better from Tuesday to Wednesday, shooting a 77 while moving 30 spots on the leaderboard. She did no worse than bogey on any hole during the second round, carding one birdie and 11 pars.
 
Meaghan Grant is one shot behind Plourde for the tournament, finishing with an 81 while recording 10 pars.
 
Margaret Butts rebounded from a shaky first round to complete a 79 for the second, totaling 10 pars and a birdie.
 
Abby Ligons completed Centre's lineup with an 83 Wednesday.
 
Centre is back on the course at 12:30 p.m. Thursday for round three.
