EAST LANSING, Mich. – Centre women's golf closed out action at the NCAA Division III Championships Friday, leaving the Forest Akers West Golf Course with a sixth-place finish.

The Colonels shot a 317 in Friday's final round, solidifying the program's second best finish at the event behind the fourth-place effort in 2013.

Sophomore Rylee Suttor made a splash in her NCAA Championship debut, placing in a tie for ninth with a 310. Her total is tied for third-lowest in program history for a 72-hole event. She carded one birdie Friday and 10 for the tournament – third-most among all individuals.

Bailey Plourde finished her Centre career with the team's low round Friday, firing a 76 that featured two birdies and a solid +1 back nine. For the four-day outing, she shot a 322 and finished in a tie for 31st overall. A two-time All-American a holder of multiple records, Plourde exits as one of the most accomplished golfers in team history.

Margaret Butts totaled a 327 after Friday's 80. She proved to be one of the best golfers in the NCAA Championships on par-3s, finishing with the seventh lowest scoring average on those holes.

As an individual, she placed T-44th, and Meaghan Grant was a stroke behind (328) and in 48th. Like Butts, Grant's par-3 average was among the top 12 in the field.

Abby Ligons (340) closed her week with an 84 Friday, recording a birdie and seven pars.
