NCAA Track & Field Championship Preview

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships are set to kick off in one day, and Centre College will be sending Meghan Owens and JP Vaught to compete for championship glory.

Owens qualified for the NCAA championships in both the javelin and the 10k. Owens's first javelin throw of the season at the Victor Icebreaker Duals at Berry punched her ticket to Nationals, as her mark of 141-3 currently ranks her seventh in the nation. In the 10k, Owens won the SAA title in the event with a school record time of 36:40.86 and just made the cut for nationals, ranking 16th in all of Division III.

Vaught qualified for the national championship meet in three events, but will race in two. His school record times of 21.06 in the 200m and 47.94 in the 400m rank first and sixth in the nation in their respective events. His time of 10.58 in the 100m, set in his last race at the Dr. Keeler Invitational, ranked 11th in the country at the time of the release of the final performance list. Vaught will run the 100m and 200m at the national championship meet.

The NCAA Championships will run from Thursday to Saturday at North Carolina A&T University. Below is the schedule of events that will include either Owens or Vaught.

THURSDAY

5 PM: Women's javelin
5:30 PM: Men's 200m prelims
8:30 PM: Women's 10K

FRIDAY

3:45 PM: Men's 100m prelims

SATURDAY

1:40 PM: Men's 100m finals
2:50 PM: Men's 200m finals
