SAA Postseason Central: Spring 2022

ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association finalized all of its postseason information for the first of two conference championship weeks this spring. Below you will find information on all of this year's SAA Championship Tournaments as they relate to Centre.

Centre men's golf heads to Braselton, Ga. and Chateau Elan G.C. for the second straight year for the SAA Tournament, which will be played Apr. 22-24. The Colonels play five freshmen in their six-man rotation, but the fast greens and fairways on the course bode well for emerging rookies James Folz and Joshua Peters. Tee times for both SAA Golf Tournaments will be posted on this page as soon as they are made available.

The no. 7 ranked Centre women's golf team enters the conference tournament at Chateau Elan G.C. in Braselton, Ga. as the favorites in a stacked field. At the same course last season, the Colonels set records for margin of victory in the most dominant performance in SAA women's golf history. Centre features the no. 1 ranked player in the nation in junior Rylee Suttor and one of the top ranked rookies in the country in Grace Walker.

No. 6 seed Centre women's lacrosse travels to Sewanee to battle no. 3 seed Oglethorpe on Friday evening, April 22 at 5 p.m. The Colonels defeated the Petrels 22-11 in Atlanta on Mar. 26. The winner of that game would then face no. 2 seed Sewanee in the semifinals. Sewanee beat Centre in the regular season finale, but if the two teams meet in the semifinals, the Colonels have enjoyed postseason success against the Tigers.

The no. 7 seed Colonels head to top seed Birmingham-Southern to begin the double elimination pod, where they will play the host Panthers on Friday , April 22 at 1 p.m.. Centre enters the tournament having won four of six and their last two conference series. Kaylee Gregory has been named SAA Pitcher of the Week and SAA Player of the Week in the last two weeks of conference play.
