ROME, Ga. – Looking to end their regular season on a high note, the Centre men's tennis team did exactly that as they bounced back with a dominant performance as they defeated the Berry Vikings in a clean sweep, taking the first five matches en route to their 12th victory of the season.
Beginning with doubles,
Faraz Ghamgosar and
Ashton Whitt cruised to an 8-3 victory, followed up by an 8-2 win for the team of
Bo Bush and
Jasper Gazzo. The closest doubles contest happened at the no. 3 position, as
Danny Nelson and
Newcomb Maddux earned a tough 8-7 win with a 9-7 tiebreaker triumph to sweep the doubles for the Colonels.
Moving onto singles,
Jett Anderson got off to a hot start at the no. 5 spot, earning a quick 6-0, 6-1 victory to put the first singles point on the board for the Colonels. The clinching match came at the no. 6 singles position as
Matthew Bulow sealed the win for the Centre men with a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
Gazzo (6-4, 4-1; No. 4), Bush (6-3, 4-4; No. 3), Whitt (6-3, 3-4; No. 2) and Ghamgosar (6-4, 2-2; No. 1) all had their singles matches left unfinished following clinching win by Bulow.

The Centre men's tennis team finishes the year will head to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the Southern Athletic Association Tournament next week. The tournament bracket will be released later this week.
