Colonels' streak reaches seven with 10-5 over Asbury

DANVILLE, Ky. – Fresh off a conference sweep against Millsaps, Centre baseball welcomed the Asbury Eagles to Gary Wright Field at Fishman Park for a midweek showdown. The Colonels improved to 11-5 on the year with a 10-5 victory, their seventh in a row.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

- Asbury got off to a hot start, scoring a pair of runs in each of the first two innings. The Colonels began to chip away in the second as Josh Cunningham worked a bases loaded walk.
- In Centre's half of the third, the Colonels loaded the bases following singles from Karson Thompson and Ben Prather and a walk by Chase Austin. Will Cline's RBI groundout cut the deficit to 4-2, and then Jamie Laframboise drove in another with a base hit to left.
- The Centre offense exploded for five runs in the fourth. A pair of errors put runners at the corners and singles from Prather and Austin drove them in to give the Colonels the lead. A walk to Cline loaded the bases and then Teddy Holloway singled to plate two more runs. Evan Weyler's base hit capped off the outburst.
- The Colonels tacked on a couple more in the later innings as Holloway smacked a double into left field in the sixth for his third RBI of the game. In the seventh, Matthew Maggard led off with a double into the gap and Thompson drove him in one batter later.
