DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre men's track & field team opened a brand new facility as The Fieldhouse hosted the Centre indoor showcase. The Colonels finished in fourth place overall out of a dozen teams in the field.
In hurdles, the Centre men had a pair crack the scoring column.
Justin Lewis led the way, finishing third with a time of 8.72.
Corbin Ison finished right behind Lewis in 9.20.
The men's 5k saw
Luke Napier finish third overall – first among Division III runners in the field – with a time of 15:53.43. In the mile,
Reeve VanDemark posted a time of 4:33.20 to finish fifth, followed by
Carter Russell in seventh with a time of 4:38.77.
Freshman
Jackson Heim placed fourth overall in the 400m with a time of 52.13. In the 800m, Russell posted a time of 2:06.63 to finish sixth overall but first among Division III competitors.
Moving onto sprints, Heim and
Gray Rahbany each posted times of 23.11 in the men's 200m, with Rahbany getting the edge by fractions of a second.
Jeremy Olliges posted a time of 23.17 to give Centre three out of the top eight. In the men's 4x400m relay, the team of Ison, Rahbany, Heim and Olliges finished third overall with a time of 3:35.22.
In the jumping events,
Logan Isaacs picked up the win as he cleared 16-2.5 to finish first.
Nick Whitlow,
Wyatt Ostrander and
Alex Hibbens all cracked the top eight in the event.
Philippe N'Dia led all Division III entrants in the triple jump as he finished sixth overall with a mark of 41-0.

The Colonels will return to action next week as they head to Wittenberg to compete in the Steemer Indoor Showcase.
