SANDESTIN, Fla.- Centre women's golf teed off in their final round of the GolfWeek October Classic on Tuesday morning. Closing with a final score of 926 (319-310-297), the Colonels claimed 14
th outright out of the 24 competing institutions.
Washington U St. Louis settled in first with a team score of 868, Carnegie Mellon took second with a completed mark of 870, and Emory landed in third with a score of 877.
Grace Walker and
Anika Rana each performed their best rounds on day three. Together the two tied for 53
rdwith a complete score of 231, Walker with (80-78-73) and Rana with (81-76-75).
Janie Morgan jumped 20 seeds up leaderboard after her final set of 18-holes. The junior counteracted her trouble on hole 16 with four birdies on the front nine. She claimed a share of 60
th with a completed score of 232 (80-79-73).
Rounding out the Colonels' line-up,
Ellie Roof tied for 81
st with a completed mark of 239 (85-77-77) while
Emily Warner took 100
th outright after scratching a 245 (78-80-87).
MONDAY RECAP
On Monday morning, the Colonels returned to the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort to complete their second set of 18-holes. Shaving nine strokes off between the two rounds, Centre women's golf improved to 16
th place as a team ahead of their final round.
The current top three teams are Emory University in first with a score of 576, Washington U St. Louis in second with a combined mark of 584, and Carnegie Mellon in third with a team score of 585.
Anika Rana made a 30 seed jump up the leaderboard after her round two performance. The senior shot no worse than a bogey in day two, slotting her in a tie for 62
nd with a combined mark of 157 (81-76).
Grace Walker and
Emily Warner currently share the tie for 66
th, each obtaining a total score of 158, Walker with (80-78) and Warner with (78-80).
Janie Morgan held firm in 75
th with a combined mark of 159 (80-79). With a grand total of 26 pars, Morgan currently ranks within the field's top-5 individuals for total pars.
Rounding out Centre's line-up,
Ellie Roof improved to 93
rd with a score of 162 (85-77).
SUNDAY RECAP
The Centre women's golf team opened their play in the annual GolfWeek October Classic on Sunday morning. After their opening 18-holes, the Colonels rest in 22nd place with a team score of 319.
Washington U St. Louis leads the tournament in first with a team mark of 291. Emory sits in second with a combined score of 293 while Carnegie Mellon rounds out the top three with a team score of 294.
Emily Warner led the Colonels through round one. Shooting no worse than a bogey on any hole, the senior landed in a tie for 65
th with a score of 78.
Janie Morgan and Grace walker matched one another with opening marks of 80. Together the two share a tie for 80
th.
Anika Rana and
Ellie Roof rounded out Centre's line-up. Rana claimed a share of the 92
nd seed with her opening score of 81. Roof landed in a tie for 110
th with her mark of 85.
