EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Centre men's cross country team raced in one last meet before the Southern Athletic Association Championships as they competed in the Angel Mounds Invite against a stacked field almost entirely consisting of Division I teams. Behind a handful of personal best times, the Colonels finished in the top half of the standings, taking seventh overall.
The Colonels finished with a combined team score of 217 points to take seventh place, defeating Division I programs such as Western Kentucky, Murray State and Austin Peay.
Individually, the Colonels had three runners crack the overall top 50.
Mitchel Meier led the way for the Centre men with an 8k time of 25:22.5, good for 29th overall. He was followed shortly by
Reeve VanDemark, who posted a time of 25:34.3.
James Schroeder also clocked in at under 26 minutes, finishing 47th with a time of 25:58.7.
Centre's final two scored times shattered previous personal best 8k marks as
Max Germann posted a time of 26:08.7, while
Duke Wilson finished in 26:12.1. In addition to setting new personal best times, both runners finished just outside the individual top 50.

Baxter Keith,
Peyton Ullery,
Henry Downs,
Cole Roberson,
Aidan Taylor and
Maverick Waters also finished with career best 8k marks, giving the Colonels 13 for the race.

Centre men's cross country will be back in action on Nov. 2 as they make a return trip to Rhodes for the SAA Championships.
