EVANSVILLE, Ind. - In the final meet of the season before the Southern Athletic Association Championships, the Centre women's cross country team raced at the Angel Mounds Invitational against a field almost entirely made up of Division I teams. The Colonels had a slew of personal best times on the way to an eighth place finish.
Centre finished with a combined team score of 185 points, beating a handful of Division I programs, including Bellarmine, Austin Peay and Evansville.
Individually, the top finisher for the Centre women was
Sophie Bouldin, who posted a 6k time of 22:10.5 to finish 13th overall. She was followed by
Cara Taylor, who posted a new career best 6k time of 22:57.1, good for 31st.
The Colonels had two more runners crack the individual top 50 as
Rachel Gaynor posted a time of 23:19.8 and
Emma Musgrave finished with a personal best time of 23:35.5.
Erin Haugh rounded out Centre's scoring times by crossing the finish line in 23:41.3, just missing out on the individual top 50.

Gillian Day and
Allison Davis all finished with personal best 6k marks as well, giving the Colonels ten new career best times for the day.

The Colonels will return to action on Nov. 2 when they head back to Rhodes to race in the SAA Championships.
