CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Centre swimming & diving picked up two wins in a meet at Wabash featuring the host Little Giants as well as Albion.
The women defeated Albion 207-83, while the men took the Britons down 236-58. The men fell to Wabash 151-148.
The women's squad saw eight different Colonels earn individual wins while two other relay victories came for the Centre team. The first of those two relays was the 200 medley relay which was won by the group of
Avery Gabbard,
Natalie Cox,
Callie West, and
Olivia Headley in 1:51.27. The second relay win was in the 200 freestyle relay.
Katelynn Stanczyk,
Caroline Short, Headley, and West won in 1:41.54.
Three Colonels had season bests in their wins. Gabbard hit her best time of 2024 in the 200 backstroke in a 2:13.01 win.
Ava Fears notched a season-best time of 1:03.33 in the 100 backstroke.
Sarah Feild got her best time in the 500 freestyle (5:22.94) and also won the 200 freestyle (2:01.97).
West picked up another win thanks to touching the wall first in the 200 IM (2:12.01). Stanczyk joined her on the top of the podium with a victory in the 1000 free (11:12.02).
Abby Jacobs earned the last swimming win for Centre in the 200 butterfly (2:24.61).
The Colonel women swept the diving events.
Erin Dannemiller won the one-meter dive (204.30) and
Sara Jean Postle took the three-meter dive (183.40).
Five different Centre men earned wins on Saturday afternoon.
Brady Miller won yet another 1000 freestyle (9:53.88) race. He has now won that event four-straight times this season. The freshman also won his second-straight 500 freestyle race thanks to a 4:47.85 time.
Tiernan Moore was the other multi-event winner for the Colonels. The freshman took home a win in the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.35 beating out
Ben Wafford who took second. Moore then earned a season best time of 2:14.54 in a 200 breaststroke win.
Dustin Niebauer picked up a win in the 100 backstroke in 53.67 to close out the swimming wins for the Gold & White.
The divers of the Centre men's program continue to impress.
Avery Balch won the three-meter dive with an NCAA cut of 367.70, while teammates
Rowan Fitzsimmons and
Brandon Anderson also earned national cuts. Fitzsimmons went on to win the one-meter dive (303) and Balch and Anderson added NCAA cuts in that dive as well.

The Colonels host a two day invite over the coming weekend. The Battle in the Bluegrass will take place Friday, Nov. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 2 inside Champions Hall.
