SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Centre men's track & field team competed in its final meet before the indoor conference championships as they traveled to Wittenberg to compete in the Wittenberg Invite against a field of teams from all divisions. The Colonels finished in fifth place overall and broke two school records in the process.
The Colonels finished with 26 points to edge out Division I Wright State for fifth place. Cedarville took home first place at today's meet.
The program records for the Centre men came in the middle distance events. In the 400m,
Gray Rahbany posted a time of 50.24 to take fourth place overall and break the record previously held by fellow senior
Jeremy Olliges since 2022. In the 800m,
Reeve VanDemark took nearly half a second off the record time he set in the event last year as a freshman, clocking in at 1:57.09 to take fifth place.
In the sprinting events, freshman
Beau Brown led the way for the Colonels in the 200m as he took second place overall with a time of 21.82.
Moving onto the jumps, the Colonels got an event win as
Logan Isaacs took first place in the men's pole vault as he cleared 15-11 to take first place overall.
Michael Smith finished fourth overall in the high jump after clearing 5-11.5. In the triple jump,
Philippe N'Dia took third place with a mark of 42-2.75. Finally, in the long jump,
Christian Billiter finished fifth overall with a mark of 21-7.25.
