BEREA, Ky. - The Centre men's cross country team began their 2024 campaign with a complete team performance on the way to a rousing victory at the BC/CC Jamboree at Berea College.

The Colonels dominated the standings to the tune of ten of the top 11 finishers in the race, good for a combined team score of 19 points. That put the Centre men 45 points ahead of second place Berea.

Individually, Reeve VanDemark earned the victory for the Colonels as he toured the Berea 6k course in 19:03.26 to win by six seconds.

After the second place runner crossed the finish line, a parade of Centre men followed, nine in a row to be exact. Mitchel Meier took third place with a time of 19:17.41, followed by James Schroeder (19:40.26) and Mitchell Chaffin (19:43.19) to round out the overall top five.

Carter Russell came in sixth place with a time of 19:45.20, with freshmen Max Germann (19:48.69)  and Liam Black (19:57.72) capping off Centre's sub-20 6k times for the race.

To finish off the run of nine straight Centre runners crossing the finish line, Baxter Keith finished ninth in 20:06.72, followed by Duke Wilson at 20:08.86 and Henry Downs at 20:13.23.
