BEREA, Ky. - Centre women's cross country began its quest for an eighth consecutive conference title with a bang on Saturday morning as the Colonels opened the 2024 campaign with a commanding victory in the BC/CC Jamboree.
The Colonels posted a combined team score of 22 points to take the win, 28 points ahead of second place Transylvania, with Asbury and Berea rounding out the field in order.
Individually, the Centre women had eight of the top 11 times in the 4k race.
Sophie Bouldin picked up the win in the race as she cleared the course with a time of 15:19.85.
Erin Haugh crossed the finish line in 15:44.24 to take third place.
Cara Taylor took fifth place for the Colonels with a time of 15:55.64, followed immediately by
Rachel Gaynor in sixth at 16:01.84 and
Claire Barnett in seventh at 16:09.16.
Positions 9-11 all went to the Centre women as well, as
Maddie Riley (16:19.13),
Emma Musgrave (16:19.88) and
Marissa Polio (16:48.17) rounded out the top 11 times in that order.

The Colonels will return to action on Sept. 7 as they race in the Grizzly Invitational, hosted by Franklin.
