MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After an idle week, the Centre men's cross country team returned to action with a sunrise race at the Rhodes Invitational. Facing a field of teams from all divisions, including several Division I, the Colonels finished ninth out of 19 teams.
Individually the fastest time of the day for the Colonels belonged to
Reeve VanDemark, who posted an 8k time of 26:23.24 for an impressive 17th place finish overall.
The Colonels had three more runners land inside the top 50 individuals as the Centre men ran in a pack that saw several runners cross the finish line in short order.
James Schroeder was next to complete the course for Centre with a time of 27:17.78, followed by
Carter Russell (27:22.83) and
Duke Wilson (27:25.96), all of whom finished between no. 43 and 48 in the overall standings.
Mitchel Meier rounded out the scoring times for the Colonels, finishing just outside the individual top 50 with a time of 27:32.03, with
Max Germann (27:39.08) and
Baxter Keith (28:22.42) finishing off Centre's top seven.
NEXT UP
The Colonels will be idle next week, but will return on Oct. 4 with the NCAA Pre-National meet, a race that usually has huge NCAA regional seeding implications.
