MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Centre women's cross country team returned from a week off to race in the Rhodes Invitational, as the Colonels faced a field of teams from all divisions, including a handful of Division I teams. The Colonels had an impressive team performance as they finished fifth overall.
Individually, the fastest time of the day for the Centre women belonged to
Erin Haugh, who clocked in with a 6k time of 23:49.00 to finish in ninth place overall.
All five of Centre's counted times landed in the top 50 individuals.
Emma Musgrave ran a fantastic race, clocking in at 24:44.54 to finish 28th overall. She was followed shortly by
Rachel Gaynor, who also ran a strong race with a time of 24:50.16 to finish 30th.
Cara Taylor (25:05.30, 39th)Â and
Claire Barnett (25:07.95, 41st), rounded out the top five scoring times for the Colonels, with
Sophie Bouldin (25:21.52, 48th) and
Maddie Riley (26:10.06, 63rd), capped off Centre's top seven.
NEXT UP
The next race for Centre women's cross country will be on Oct. 4, and it will be a big one, as the Colonels will race in the NCAA Pre-National Meet against the top teams in the Great Lakes Region.
